12pm | Skidmore Contemporary, booth 315 Richard Baker: From the Wharton School of Business and Network Television to Becoming an Artist
What makes an artist an artist? Is talent innate or learned? How does and artist develop their “voice”? As a business student with no art background, Richard Bakertook an oil painting class on a lark years ago and discovered he had a talent for manipulating light and color. Many years of producing such TV shows as “Live from Lincoln Center” and “The Drew Carey Show” helped hone his eye for composition as well as learn what audiences respond to. Baker’s experience as an art collector also impacts his subject matter and style. Baker will tell this transformative story while he shows some of his recent paintings.
